10th July
Saw the ponies today under the large pine tree near the hobby gate (the side entrance down from the Corale, going away from Coopers Hill). They then moved into the trees near the crossroads where there are a number of tall pine and near the old cottages. All looking happy with very shiny coats.

Pony Identification 2014
6 NEW FOREST PONIES ARE NOW ON SITE FOR SUMMER 2014!
Please comment under this page for any sightings of the ponies this year.
This is the darkest of the ponies with a small white flash on
the forehead and most likely to be the first to come over to
say hello.
Ginger pony with white flash and white socks. Also very quick
to come and say hello.
This pony is quite dark but has some pale patches around the top of its legs. Usually quite shy and won't be too interested in coming over.
Beige pony with dark mane and tail, white nose. This pony is a little bit skittish and will ususally keep it's distance.
White pony, only girl of the group. Generally quite uninterested in coming over.
White male pony with some grey/brown dappling.
Investigating the truck
The ponies had a good nose around the truck today, probably hoping for a bit of food! All look well and happy.

Colic
A quick bit of info about colic as the darkest pony had this on Thursday evening. This is very painful for the pony, they will roll around on their back visibly uncomfortable. They will get up and walk a little but then go back to ground quite quickly and stretch their legs out and roll around. Since the vet gave him some medicine the pony has been fine, but the above behaviour is worth keeping an eye out for.

Hide and Seek
The ponies are starting to venture around the site a little more and seem to find it quite easy to vanish in to scrub that isn't very tall. This can lead to being quite close to them before spotting them. This shouldn't be a problem as they are friendly, but just to be aware.

Hiding in the birch
Ponies enjoying the site and hiding themselves in the birch scrub. I saw them disappearing amongst the trees down towards the boggy area near the river.

Eating in the rain
Ponies not at all phased by the thunder, lightening and rain today. Still eating away and looking well.
